I love the liveliness and hope that arises around Easter.

I come from a family who is firmly rooted in the soil that is the gospel of Jesus Christ and every year (with the exception of this year) we perform an Easter Cantata – Loves Greatest Gift.  (Cantata- a medium-length narrative piece of music for voices with instrumental accompaniment, typically with solos, chorus, and orchestra.) This Cantata is in celebration of Christ – that He lives and loves us. This message is one that has grown within me over the last sixteen years.

In the lovely assortment of dyed easter eggs there is “the name egg”, which is an egg with our name written on it. The name egg plays a key role in the Easter Egg hunt and a special prize is often attached as soon as you find it. I remember one time in the history of our Easter egg hunts my dad hid a batch of his beloved fudge and my siblings and I had to use a GPS to find it. How’s that for a “Grand Prize!”?

I love Easter and all of the traditions that come with it, but I’d have to say my favorite thing about Easter is spending time with my family and creating memories and traditions for Easters to come.

Happy Easter! I hope your day is filled with love, life, and hope!
