Cheers to 2024!

I feel intimidated and invigorated with the New year approaching. 2024 was completely different than I anticipated. If I think of one word to describe 2024, it is human. It was a very human year. There were many beautiful and challenging moments. Here is what stood out to me each month this year.

January & February

  • Released Home

  • We formed a band for the tiny desk contest with NPR

  • Performed at some of my favorite restraunts

March

  • I got to be a part of a special livestream concert series put on by Utah State Univesity Aggie radio. (Yay Aggie radio! I love Aggie radio! ).

  • Got a little minor back surgery to not be in pain (silly buldging discs).

  • Somewhere in the process I won a stuffed cow and am now obsessed with her.

April

  • Released Something’s About to Begin

  • Took a break from gigging (because I wasn’t supposed to lift anything more than a gallon of milk) and guitars weigh more than a gallon of milk.

May

  • Got to perform at a little festival called Art on the Main down in Brigham City!

June

  • Introduced my exciting adventure into the Americana world by releasing Run. (We celebrated its release on national donut day by eating donuts)

  • I very gently eased back into playing pickleball (no running proved to be a challenge).

  • Spent some much needed time with family

  • Accidentally stumbled into trying out the drums at a songwriting jam and had the time of my life.

July

  • Opened for a local up and coming artist at the Lionheart Hall

  • Saw Noah Kahan in concert and will never be the same

  • Run played on Aggie radio for the first time!!

August (this was by far my favorite month)

  • My full band played at the Cache County Fair

  • We got to play at Velour for the first time (Sara Bareleis has played here before)

  • Sang the National Anthem at the Rodeo

  • Discovered the magic of playing with in-ears during a show. (I love love love them)

  • Performed at the Center Street Art Beat

September

  • Cheese Festival (the gouda event of the year)

  • RECORDING (Recording, recording, recording… drums1). Very EXCTING TUNES. That are almost done! You’ll be hearing them SO SOON

  • Battle of the bands (another one? Yes another one!). Made some new friends who are amazing!

October

  • Performed at The Little Jam up in Cache Valley

  • More RECORDING (recording, recording, recording… bass and guitar!)

November

  • Played at the Grand Opening of Brodrero’s paintings!

  • Recording…. vocals!!! (eeeeee. We’re getting closer and closer)

  • Spent more much needed time with loved ones

  • Saw the ocean. (My heart loves the ocean).

December

  • Released an acoustic version of Silent NIght

  • Released a new December song (written the same day. I never do that but I did).

  • Breathed.

If you made it this far. I truly am grateful for you. Thank you for your support and for believing in me. Thank you for inviting these songs into your life and letting them find a home with you. So much growth was made in 2024. I can’t wait to share this next year of creativity together.

May you and I remember the little steps that got us to where we are today. Here’s a cheers to a beautiful 2025, may we take moments to breathe, slow down, and then run, feel the wind on our face, and enjoy.
